Electric patio heaters have yet to take off to the extent that propane models have. This is partly due to the fact that you have to plug them into a power socket and not everyone has a GFCI outlet exactly where they need one.
Making the investment in that power socket though, can make you some serious money. For every dollar you spend running a propane patio heater you only have to spend 10 cents to run one of these electric units.
